According to this article in The Charlotte Business Journal, HR is where to go if you’re looking for a new career!
From the article:
An American City Business Journals analysis of 793 occupations in the country’s largest metropolitan areas found that “HR specialist” is the fastest-growing job in the nation, with an annual growth rate of 18.1 percent from 2009 to 2014. The number of HR specialist jobs in the 106 largest U.S. job markets jumped to 456,000 in 2014 from about 198,000 just five years earlier.
And the pay for an HR specialist is pretty good, too. The national average last year was $62,590, with an annual rate of increase over the past five years of 2.8 percent — substantially higher than the 1.7 percent average for all American workers. It ranked among the top 10 percent for jobs with the highest pay increases — though it trailed others such as compliance officers (up 4.3 percent) and tax preparers (up 4 percent).
