Hi. My name is John and I am a Harry Potter geek.
Ok, ok, I don’t geek-out on Harry Potter as much as some (let your freak flag fly!) but I am a fan. Y’all it has been 20 YEARS since the the first US publication of Harry Potter and the Sorcerer’s Stone. Alright, that makes me feel OLD AS DIRT.
To celebrate two decades of Harry Potter, you can head to New York Historical Society’s new exhibit, “Harry Potter: A History of Magic” open now through January 27. The article does a great job of describing the exhibit and makes me want to go!
You can also bring Harry Potter to you own home. Check out Pottery Barn Teen’s Harry Potter collection. You can shop by item or shop by “house”. (BTW, this is not a sponsored post.)
There are some great pieces in the collection. They’d be flexible for decor beyond a Harry Potter theme. For example, the Floor Length MIRROR OF ERISED™ would work in a “princess” or “prince” room concept. It’s a fun Gothic look for $399.
Another gem in the collection is this Phoenix Floor Lamp. Featuring a gilded and openwork metal design, this lamp is a magical addition to any room – Lumos Maxima!
I know that the Harry Potter look may not be for everyone – I’m not going to add these to my home. I think these are fun and for a rabid fan (young or young at heart) they’d make a great gift to help bring the Harry Potter fantasy to life.
